The Technical Accounting Manager will report directly to our Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting, and is responsible for various items, including technical accounting research and operational implementation of new transactions/operations/contracts, preparation of related written documentation, and other accounting related special projects on an as needed basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Technical accounting research and operational implementation of new transactions, operations, and contracts.
Preparation of related written documentation and memoranda.
Accounting related special projects will be required on an as needed basis.
Participation in the planning and accounting due diligence related to business development projects and other strategic transactions.
May have supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc.
Able to research and interpret accounting principles and pronouncements, and recommend application to Company.
Plans and coordinates activities of a specified accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording of data.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting of all financial reports.
Monitors general accounting systems; recommends and implements approved changes.
Conducts special accounting studies and prepares report.
Update SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as described in Tutor documentation.
Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling.
Direct and oversee work of direct reports; Able to delegate efficiently and accordingly; Able to manage complex personnel issues; Able to coach and mentor supervisory direct reports.
Effective recruitment and retention of quality employees; Effectively recommend/negotiate annual salary adjustments for direct reports; Prepare, perform, review and approve annual performance reviews for direct reports. Authority and responsibility to retain, terminate, reward or discipline reporting group.
